WARNING TO ALL READERS THERE ARE SPOILERS IN THIS BLOG POST
The main character in the story , V, is a a hero to many people , but to many others he is a murderous vigilante. The book V for Vendetta by Alan Moore is about a man in a costume, roaming the streets of future Britain, killing corrupted cops and saving people. He is trying to seek justice for the government because they have corrupted the police. V makes his first move against the police by saving Ms Hammond from the cops who are about to rape her. In exchange Hammond devoted her life to helping V against the police, but she starts to notice that V doesn't have any emotion and he doesn't care about the people he kills and she starts to think that he is just a blood thirty murderer.
Kids my age would relate to this story because many times, people you think you can trust can turn around and hurt you and at my age and because lots of times in school it feels like the same scenario. You are always watched, there is a curfew for when you need to be inside your classroom and if you do something wrong you get punished.
V lives in a corrupted world and people are scared to tap out of their houses not knowing what will happen. V tries to change the ways of the police by scaring them and killing them and messing up their plans so that the town would join forces and speak up. V goes on television and broadcasts all that is wrong so people can come out of hiding and help him. " Did you think to kill me? There is no flesh and blood within this cloak to kill. There is only an idea." I have seen teenagers rally people when they need to change things and it has worked. Teenagers have a special bond that allows us to work together. Divide and conquer to defeat their threat.
An important character in this book is no-hero. His name is Finch. He is the head of the police and he is set on killing V for what he thinks is terrorizing the city. Finch goes on a quest to defeat this masked vigilante and restore order in the city, though the order is not good because it is corrupted and his people are killing a lot of other people. He only cares about his power, his money and his life. I think that V was a hero , not a vigilante, what he did was for the better cause to restore the city's confidence in the people.
This books matters because it shows that if people work together you really can do anything. Maybe his methods were not the best, because killing does fix the situation, but if people work hard together they can achieve anything.
